Dhamma Threads
Where did it start ?
The idea began with t-shirts printed with a word or words of power.
Ideas seeds food for thought that can be worn and shared throughout the day. Words that have meaning to the wearer and shine a light on the path to self mastery, morality and wisdom.
Sitting in meditation on a 10 day Vipassana course and listening to the words of Goenka. The idea struck me that these phrases these words that he repeats and returns to so thoroughly would translate so wonderful onto t-shirts.
And so Dhamma Threads was born. Sowing the seeds of love because Goenka speaks often of that. To reap the right fruit you must plant the right seeds. He also says that your vocation is important and what better way then to spread the love.
I chose Sow over sewing because to Sow by definition is to spread, disperse, broadcast and that is the intention.
Things to consider are the quality of the fabric, organic/sustainable cotton, bamboo, hemp garments.
Comfortable, made with pure intention: Love, Compassion and Goodwill. My wish is that all beings may know real peace, real harmony real happiness. This is what should be imbued into the very fabric, so that it resonates into the wearer and out into the world.
The fabric is a symbol of the fabric of reality. But it is not enough just to wear it but is to be lived.
The words are not an alter or a mantra. They are seeds to grow, sparks to light the way and breadcrumbs to nourish the path.
A vibration. Words carry power and intention and being made up mostly of water and water as you know can carry memory and intention we are susceptible to the words.
So words of love and magic make sense.
